To rip the entire Now CD, click Rip and select Rip All Tracks.
To copy one or more tracks, select it (using the Shift key and as in Windows Explorer), then click “Copy” and select “Copy Selected Tracks”.

As a workaround, it will now rip the CD/tracks to aacPlus files at 64 kbps and put them in Music, c:\my, to review this, go to

Which one and which one?
For (relatively) audible quality at 64kbps further down the page: and MP4/aacPlus
However, at the other extreme, if you don’t want to go for almost no quality: FLAC
Between the two: At 190-200kbps, MP3, AAC, Vorbis and WMA Professional are capable of outputting indistinguishable quality as you almost always see the original, making your diet healthier than the MP3 will degrade faster, but when it comes to the other three are still far from 128kbps.

Recommended settings:
.WAV output

Check Write .WAV headers, uncheck Convert to format, File name data format: WAV
It really should only be second-hand if you want to get uncompressed files back to be burned as an audio CD (and even then FLAC might still be the best choice) or ripped/compressed with another program.
(Convert to disc can be used to play with the Windows ACM codec, but at your own risk: the resulting documents may not even play in Winamp.)

aacPlus encoder (HE-AAC) v1.24

Only recommended if someone you know needs raw AAC, also use MP4/aacPlus instead. (see also recommended settings here)

AacPlus High Bitrate Encoder (HE-AAC) v1.24

Can Winamp rip CDs?

With Winamp, you can rip (transfer and digitally compress) your trusted CDs to your computer. This means that you can listen to them without inserting a CD. This also means that someone can create their own playlists using individual tracks from different

Simple settings for excellent quality:
Quality: –alt-preset almost standard
Leave everything else as default.
This setting has been adjusted and tested to produce transparent files (indistinguishable from all originals) even when critically listened to by carefully trained listeners. As a rule, it develops a speed of about 200 kbps.

If you want smaller media files (~160 kbps) to retain excellent quality, use –alt-preset fast media. On the other hand, if additional protection against artifacts is more important, you can do it with the File size: –alt-preset parameter will soon be extreme (~240 kbps).
If the file size is wrong, create it: alt-preset insane (320kbps)

Additional options:
Starting with Winamp 5.30, you can use the full range of adjustable settings.Bitrate box.
Why Variable Flow? This is the only way to achieve (nearly) consistent quality.
(But abr sounds better at lower bitrates.)
Mode: New VBR, Shared Stereo
Always use a shared stereo system! For (except monocoders, of course)
Minimum VBR bitrate: 32
Maximum VBR Bandwidth: 320
In general, these values should not be, use VBR Q to set the required size / quality. However, some (extremely crappy) hardware men and women jump at 320 kbps, and in this case the maximum is cut to 256.
Quality: Normal or High (doesn’t matter, even Very High gives exactly the same results (only with VBR new/mtrh))
VBR Q: This is the actual quality/bitrate device, its parameters are:

Resulting data rate VBR Q* Notes
0 245 the same, except for –alt-preset almost extreme
2 175 same as –alt-preset Instant Standard
4160 basically the same –alt-preset almost average
