Today Microsoft has released Vista pre-RC1 build 5472.  This new build is now available on Microsoft Connect and MSDN to beta testers and MSDN subscribers.

This new release has a few new icons and claims to offer improved performance.  Other changes include a tweaked logon screen, new performance rating system and the new Aero Express interface replacing the ugly grey look for non-glass users.
